This submission made recommendations on the need for the Australian Government to develop a strategy for its advocacy for the global abolition of the death penalty. The submission is now available online and I appeared today before the Human Rights Sub-committee of the Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade to talk more about the proposals in our submission.
The People’s Climate Marches will take place all over the nation and world on 27-29 November 2015 to march for global action on climate change. Amongst Synods, congregations and Uniting Church members, momentum is building for involvement in these marches. The Uniting For Climate website includes information about actions in your local area, a Uniting Church prayer, and resources for your congregation to use.
