Let your gifts give twice by using Target gift tags on what you buy this Christmas.

The UnitingCare and Target Christmas appeal will be officially launched by Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull on December 8.

The Appeal has begun in all Target stores across the country on November 3 until Christmas Eve.

Members of the public are encouraged to drop off unwrapped gifts at the layby counter in any Target store or purchase a $1 bauble gift tag at any Target checkout.

Over 24 years, UnitingCare and Target have collected over 2 million gifts for disadvantaged Australians.

This year the appeal is aiming to raise a $1 million dollars through the sale of $1 bauble gift tags available at checkouts of all Target stores.

Target will donate the full proceeds of the gift card sales to the UnitingCare Christmas Appeal – which helps us provide emergency assistance with food, shelter, transport and crisis support to families who struggle to celebrate Christmas; something so many of us take for granted.

Our representatives then collect and distribute all gifts and donations to those most in need in local communities.

This year Christmas will be particularly tough for many Australians with one in six children living in poverty. Last year the appeal helped support over 42,000 Australian families. This year we anticipate reaching even more.

Support us on social media by posting an image of you holding up a Bauble gift tag on Facebook, Twitter of Instagram with the tag #showusadollar.

We believe all Australian families deserve to experience the joy and excitement of Christmas.

Your gift donated today will make a real difference to someone doing it tough this Christmas.
